Finding the right counsellor to trust and talk to can be difficult - let's take a brief moment to appreciate you coming this far into your research and showing an effort to change, not everyone can say that about themselves! Right now, it is still difficult to assess whether I could be the best fit for you, and that's what's most important. When deciding on a therapist, many things play a role, including specialty, personality, cost, and scheduling. When I went into therapy, I was looking for someone who would understand me and whom I could relate to - so, let's take a little detour into who I am!
Please reach us at salam@lillahicounselling.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Islamic counselling is a form of therapy that integrates Islamic teachings with modern psychological practices to provide holistic, integrative mental health support. This approach ensures that therapeutic interventions align with Islamic values, offering a spiritually grounded path to healing. My main priority is to offer psychological support that is in alignment with the Quran and Sunnah with the understanding of the Salaf.
Unlike traditional therapy, Islamic counselling incorporates spiritual and religious principles from Islam into the therapeutic process. This means that issues like depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges are addressed with both psychological techniques and Islamic guidance in accordance with Quran and Sunnah, ensuring that your faith is a core part of your healing journey.
Yes, Islamic counselling at Lillahi Counselling is completely confidential. We adhere to strict ethical guidelines in accordance with the BACP to ensure your privacy and trust are maintained throughout the counselling process.
Islamic counselling is beneficial for anyone who seeks mental health support within the framework of Islamic values. It is particularly helpful for Muslims who want to address issues such as depression, anxiety, marital problems, and spiritual crises in a way that is congruent with their faith.
Islamic counselling itself focuses on a collaboration between faith and therapeutic processes. Having said that, I follow an integrative and holistic approach to counselling and thus work with a variety of Muslim and Non-Muslim clients. If you feel like working with me through your current challenges would be beneficial, I look forward to hearing from you no matter your religious commitment. Islamic counselling and every other type of therapy is judgement free and confidential!
The cost of an Islamic counselling session at Lillahi Counselling is currently fixed at £50 per session. As I am currently an islamic counsellor in training, it is my aim to offer affordable islamic counselling sessions so that they are accessible to as many people as possible in shaa Allah. However, if you are a student or have other extenuating financial circumstances, please get in touch to discuss potential fee reduction
A typical islamic counselling session at Lillahi Counselling lasts for 50 minutes. During an Islamic counselling session, you can expect a supportive environment where your religious beliefs are respected and incorporated into the therapeutic process. Sessions may include discussions of Islamic teachings, Quranic reflections, and practical strategies to address your concerns. Please note, I am not an islamic scholar and will not be providing any advice or opinion on islamic rulings.
slamic counselling can help with a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, stress, marital problems, parenting challenges, grief, and spiritual crises.
